Stanford Children's Center
Children’s Center of Stanford Community (CCSC)
Stanford, CA
The Children’s Center of the Stanford Community (CCSC) is a newly constructed early childhood facility located on Stanford University’s Escondido Road. It is the only non-profit licensed childcare center on Stanford's campus and is one of California’s largest parent-run cooperatives. Sitting directly across from Bing Children’s Center the new facility’s play based design reinforces the philosophy that children are competent, curious, and resourceful learners. The new campus provides a nurturing environment for the children of 200+ university faculty, staff, and students and consists of a series of three buildings. Miller Company designed four individual outdoor learning and play yards to meet the needs of different age groups ranging from six months to five years old. Nature abounds throughout the play areas all featuring topography, natural materials, and many preserved mature trees along with new plantings of native, drought tolerant, and child-friendly species.
