One Henry Adams
One Henry Adams San Francisco, California
One Henry Adams Street is a six-story mixed-use development with ground-floor commercial space and 239 one- and two-bedroom residential units on the upper floors. Miller Company worked with BAR Architects on this development. The project has over 26,000 square feet of open space, including a mid-block pedestrian mews, a rooftop garden, and two podium gardens.
The One Henry Adams Street project contributes to the development of the Townsend Circle area, where the Potrero Hill and South of Market neighborhoods intersect. Residential development has been expanding in the neighborhood for more than 10 years. The surrounding Design District, several high-tech office centers, and proximity to CalTrain and other transit options have transformed this one-time industrial district into a growing urban residential center.
The project features integrative stormwater management, including pervious pavement and rainwater harvesting gardens. Other sustainability features include water-efficient plantings, use of locally-sourced and salvaged materials where feasible, and lighting designed to minimize night-sky light pollution.
