This garden design extends the living areas of the hillside house and creates a lush outdoor entertainment area. The slightly up-sloping site offered the possibility to bring the rear garden into view from within the house. The tiered water feature, with vessel-shaped upper pool and rectilinear lower pools, draws the eye out into the garden. Water falling from one vessel to the next creates a gentle background murmur. Decking of tropical Ipe serves as a gathering area and bridge to the patio, paved with granite setts. Outdoor kitchen and dining areas enable the clients to serve guests in the garden.   Stone retaining walls define the garden’s sloping perimeter, planted with a variety of colors and textures that bring life to the garden.
