Knox Dogpatch 645 Texas St.
Knox Dogpatch at 645 Texas St. San Francisco, California
Knox Dogpatch is a multi-family housing project located a few blocks from the CalTrain Station at the intersection of Dogpatch and Potrero Hill neighborhoods in San Francisco. Completed in 2017, this development offers 91 units, retail space for neighborhood businesses and a below grade parking level, The landscape scope included the streetscape, a podium level courtyard, and roof deck. The verdant courtyard offers a peaceful retreat where the silence is broken by the sounds of birds chirping and the water cascading from the central fire/water feature. The courtyard also includes an outdoor kitchen, a movie wall and multiple seating areas. Private patios are screened from these public amenities by generous planters, which also serve to capture and clean stormwater from the roof. Both the roof deck and streetscape have been designed to attract native butterflies. Corten planters surrounding the building feature native drought-resistant plants, as does an extensive area of the green roof.
